L’appel du Grotte
Poetry by Trenton Bibee
It Eats and so it Lives
You don’t crave knowledge
You crave the lack of it
You descend for the lack of it
L’appel du Vide
It offers you peace
Shadows of people
Shadows of problems
Can you still hear the birds?
What is more real, the shadow, or the flame
You can’t stop, you don’t want to
Didn’t Father warn you of me
You’ve walked a long way
Do you hunger?
You don’t crave knowledge
You crave the lack of it
You descend for the lack of it
Like a headlamp in the ocean
Eve did not seek knowledge
She sought the gaps
You have to dig deeper to find Nirvana
Deeper
Deeper
Was it enough for Mr. Collins
Trading crystals for sand
You do not continue because you know the way
You continue because you don’t
You lust for me, I hunger for you
Can you still hear the birds?
They are louder here, they know why
Embrace me, you always do
You can’t stop, you don’t want to
Didn’t Father warn you of me
Stare at me, I stare back with your own eyes
Not, gold, nor diamond, nor fame
You don’t crave knowledge
You crave the lack of it
You descend for the lack of it
L’appel du Grotte
It Eats and so it Lives
