A Still Life of Identity, 2025

Artist Statement

I started to think of items that represent me and parts of my daily routine; a colorful teddy that was bought as a representation of myself, my digital camera and lip products I simply cannot go to class without, and finally, a Red Bull which keeps me awake for art. The work represents a small piece of my identity and everyday life. The teddy bear symbolizes me, still showing nostalgia for my childhood, while the camera reflects my creativity and desire to capture every moment. The makeup represents my self-reflection and the personal style I’ve developed, and the energy drink references the fast-paced routine of student life. Together, these objects create a portrait of modern culture through familiar items.
