Ari Contreras

Hello! I’m a junior pursuing a B.A. in Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Media and a B.F.A. in Creative Writing with a minor Spanish. I love spending my free time annotating novels, watching films, and writing poetry. Apart from The Scratch Post, I serve as an Opinions Editor at the Kentucky Kernel and a reader for flash fiction at JMWW. I’m extremely passionate about promoting a platform where students’ voices and creative ideas are showcased!

Hi everyone, I am a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience! When I’m not studying, I spend my free time surrounding myself with art of all kinds. I am thrilled to see what you all have created and excited to be part of this creative endeavor!

Hello! I am a senior majoring in Human Health Sciences with a minor in Neuroscience. As a member of The Scratch Post, I love being part of a creative community that brings together talented students from all different backgrounds and academic disciplines who wish to share their amazing works!

Hi! I’m a sophomore majoring in Middle Level Education with focus in English and Social Studies. I love writing and literature, and I am interested in all things creative, horror, and oddities! I look forward to meeting and collaborating with new people and giving students a platform to showcase their work.

Hi! I am a senior majoring in Secondary English Education. In my free time I love to read, workout, draw, and hang out with friends! I am looking forward to seeing work from fellow writers and artists and growing alongside so many talented people! 

Lindsay Patterson

I’m a junior on the pre-law track majoring in History with a double minor in Law and Justice and Psychology. When I’m not studying for school or working at my job as a legal intern, I love to see local music with my friends, catch a good movie, patronize local coffee shops, and spend time crafting—mostly scrapbooking and sewing. I resonate with the vision of The Scratch Post, and I’m excited to see what we will come up with this semester!

Hey! I’m a senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Arts. While I love the arts as a whole, I’m definitely partial to music and writing. In my free time you can usually find me writing poetry or a new song, and on rarer occasions, working on my manuscript. I’m thrilled to be a part of The Scratch Post family! We have so much talent here at the University of Kentucky, and I can’t wait to see everything you all have created!

Hi! I’m a sophomore majoring in Food Biosciences on the Food Business Management track. I enjoy writing creatively in my free time, but I especially love working on all things related to poetry. Outside of writing, I enjoy crocheting, volunteering, and searching for the best places to eat on and off campus. I’m so excited to be a part of The Scratch Post this year, and I can’t wait to see all that unfolds over the semester!

Heya folks! I am a Public Policy, Economics, and Political Science major here at the University of Kentucky. I love journeying into unknown worlds and seeing all the human imagination has to offer. That said, I have a soft spot for high fantasy, mystery, and Lovecraftian horror!
